Holistic Health Works for many reasons.  Firstly, these are ancient techniques that have helped humanity for ages.  Holistic Health Works to bridge the gap by bringing wellness into the workplace.  True holistic health & wellness begins with our thoughts & intentions and extends into our actions, how we feed our minds & bodies, nourish our bodies, relieve our stresses, and refocus on wellness.  It is a lifelong process.

PHYSICAL WELLNESS
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing modality that treats almost any physical or mental symptom.  Prevention magazine highlights 6 benefits of acupuncture: eases back pain, boosts the effectiveness of other medication, soothes indigestion, counteracts radiation side effects, dulls persistent headaches, and is an effective weight-loss treatment.  Read more here.

Reiki
Benefits of Reiki treatments include: stress reduction, improved health & immune system functioning, increased peace & harmony, it cleans & clears emotions, speeds the recovery from illness, helps relieve symptoms from migraines, chronic fatigue, arthritis & sciatica. 


Massage
Massage for most is some quiet time to yourself.  Beyond that, there are many benefits to regular massage treatments.  The Mayo Clinic sites studies that show massage helps with: anxiety, digestive disorders, Fibromyalgia, headaches, stress related insomnia, nerve pain, myofascial pain, soft tissue pain & sports injuries.  

Nutrition
We all know we need to eat our fruits and vegetables, but do we?  And are they organic?  How can we work them into our diets more?  The USDA states that healthy eating helps reduce the risk for heart disease, protect against cancers, lowers blood pressure, decreases bone loss, keeps skin healthy and protects against infectious diseases.  

Mindfulness Meditation
Why?  Because Google's doing it!  This practice helps to heal the brain and brain functioning. Physically, mindfulness meditation has been shown to reduce cortisol and blood pressure, and to improve the immune system. Cognitively, mindfulness has been shown to decrease rumination and boost attention. Emotionally, mindfulness reduces emotional reactivity and improves resilience.  


Yoga
Yoga means Union or Oneness of breath and body.  Some of the benefits of practicing yoga include: improved flexibility, stronger muscles, improves joint cartilage, challenges the spinal disks, strengthens the bones, promotes lymph drainage for detoxification, provides aerobic heart conditioning, lowers cortisol levels (that stress hormone that triggers an increased waistline), lifts your spirit & lowers blood sugar levels.
